A place of reverence becomes a place of revelry in a night of music, art, performance and creative freedom, with the fourth year of Confessional Festival which returns to Blackburn after last years’ incendiary visit of punk-politicos Cabbage and She Drew The Gun.

Dragging some of the UK’s most exciting bands off the road and into church, both Trampoline and PINS are announced to play this year’s event on Sat 8 September 2018 at a fantastically fancy-dressed Holy Trinity Church, Blackburn.

A 10-hour music and arts festival that centres around a celebration of all things ‘Out of this World’, the 2018 event promises to bring the kitsch of mid-century sci-fi and space travel to the lavish Lancashire festival. Dexy’s Midnight Runners legend, Kevin Rowland will present his finest records over the last 40 years for a special DJ show, while Glaswegian gothic post-punks, The Ninth Wave are also feeling confessional.

Alongside this year’s line up of live bands, Confessional Festival has also curated a mix of spoken word, live art, creative market stalls, art installations and high-quality, handpicked food and drink.

This year’s confirmed line-up for Confessional Festival includes:

Pete Eastwood, Organiser of Confessional Festival, says: This is no ordinary gig in a church; it’s a transformation of the space to donate it fully to the spirit of creativity, with every detail taken care of to make sure every moment is unforgettable. When Cabbage and She Drew The Gun played for us last year the level was taken up a notch, leaving this year’s stage open to Trampolene and PINS to build on the electricity we created. Unmissable.
